Louisa has a population of 2,018 within the corporate limits with approximately 5,000 people who live within a mile of the city.  Louisa is the county seat of Lawrence County.

  • Louisa is where the Lawrence County Septemberfest is held yearly, this year event will be held on September 9, 10, and 11, 2005 in downtown Louisa.  The weekend after Labor Day.  This an old-fashion street festival in the heart of the downtown area that draws many visitors and tourists.  The festival is also the time of many high school class reunions from the old Louisa High School days and the newer Lawrence County High School.

  • Lake Hills.jpg (32609 bytes)If you like scenic views-Lawrence County, with many hills and valleys, offering scenic views that are unmatched.  In the spring, the dogwoods and red-bud trees are spectacular and the fall foliage is inspiring.  God did some of his best work when he created the landscape here in Louisa and Lawrence Country.
  • Table Rock.jpg (59008 bytes)Yatesville Lake State Park is located approximately 5 miles from Louisa.  The Yatesville Lake State Park, is one of Kentucky's newest state parks, offering a full service marina, with boat rentals.  A new swimming beach was also opened in the summer of 2002.  There is a new campground located in the park and construction is under way on a championship golf course, to be opened in the spring of 2003.  

  • Fish.jpg (50235 bytes)Yatesville Lake is considered one of the top bass fishing lakes in the state and the lake has hosted many fishing tournaments conducted by the Kentucky Bass Federation.  Bluegill, Crappie and Catfish are also plentiful on the lake.
  • deer.jpg (53207 bytes)Lawrence County also offers some of the best white-tail deer and wild turkey hunting in the state.  This county is almost  always in the top five in the state as far as productive hunting opportunities for the hunting enthusiast.
